      EMPOLYMENT

01/10/2017 – Present  - Senior Project Engineer Traxion NDT, Wallingford, UK.
01/01/2000 – 31/9/2017 Head of Training and Rail Testing Guided Ultrasonics Ltd, London UK.

Dr Evans studied for a PhD at Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine, within the Mechanical Engineering department from 1994 to 1998; working on developing methods and numerical simulations of using guided waves for acoustic emission testing of plate structures. During his PhD, he produced papers for respected international journals and gave unique presentations on his research at conferences such as Annual Review of Progress in QNDE in the USA.

Upon finishing his post doctoral research and development projects, Dr Evans joined Guided Ultrasonics Ltd as a development engineer where he worked until October 2017. Development projects included instrumentation and procedures for the inspection of pipe and rails. Dr Evans was primarily responsible for training, technical support, product development and procedure writing. Dr Evans has more than 17 years experience in the guided wave field with outstanding knowledge of the theory and application of guided waves in NDT.  Dr Evans is a Level 3 GW specialist.

Dr Evans currently works for Traxion NDT ltd as a senior project engineer current activities include a development project (Ontracs) for measuring the tension in rails and additionally providing training for guided wave testing inspection companies.
