Professor Chris Burgoyne

We are saddened to learn of the loss of Chris. He was much admired and we are proud of our association with him.

He had a formidable intellect. This is perhaps to be expected of a professor at one of the world’s great universities. Our association with him was through his interest in synthetic fibres. Recently Chris had devised a clever way of determining fibre creep; the Stepped Isothermal Method. This overcame one of the main difficulties of the traditional method.

Most of all he was very likeable; kind and accessible and at times very amusing.

We will miss him.
