TTI Marine Renewables
TTI Marine Renewables (TTI-MR) Ltd, was established in 2015. Our team of naval architects, engineers and material specialists have decades of experience in the design, development, testing and qualification of station-keeping solutions for floating marine renewable energy systems (floating wind, wave, tidal & solar).
Beyond marine renewables we have designed innovative solutions for offshore aquaculture and conducted marine mammal entanglement simulation studies.
We are well versed in the global and coupled analysis of the offshore structures, including the aero-elastic and hydrodynamic modelling of a wide range of floating offshore wind platform designs.
We have industry leading know-how in the design of synthetic based systems which requires an understanding of rope mechanics to ensure representative modelling of complex behaviours. This is supported by access to rope test data from our sister company TTI Testing Ltd who have a forensic knowledge of rope behaviour.
With our combined knowledge of rope mechanics and global system behaviour, we can provide advice on the installation, through-life intervention and retirement of mooring your mooring systems.
We are equally comfortable designing steel-based mooring systems. Our senior mechanical engineers lead on the design, structural analysis and specification of rope interfacing structures including fair-leading and tensioning systems. Our team also have practical offshore and laboratory experience and we have led a significant number of model testing campaigns which have been used to validate our numerical models of floating structures. Complementary to mooring design, we also conduct marine operation studies and lifecycle analysis.

Key services we can offer include:
• Full mooring system global time domain analysis.
• Mooring system landscaping, concept development and optimisation.
• Mooring system detail design.
• Reliability analysis.
• Foundations and anchors.
• Mooring lines and connectors.
• Topside termination hardware.
• Practical marine operations experience including installation.
• Electro-mechanical umbilicals.
• Array scale deployments.
• Mooring system environmental impact assessment.
• Cost of energy analysis.
